Well, the defense is over, and it went well--much better than I thought it would! I had a wonderful committee; all members had helpful and positive feedback on my dissertation.
I have tried to imagine what it would be feel like to be done with the defense after so many years in school. I thought I would feel ecstatic, running up and down the streets, wanting to jump out of my skin. Instead, I feel somewhat numb. It just hasn’t really sunk in yet that--once I hand in the final copy with the minor revisions I need to do--it is over. I’ll be interested to see how I feel once it does sink in.
